Instead, information is shoved onto our faces, through our devices.

The science behind attention-grabbing information is the effect it has on our minds. Typically termed as dopamine hit. Every time we discover something new, we get a rush of emotions.

I remember as a kid, the sheer excitement I felt at discovering something new to me.

Attention Economy is taking that childlike excitement experienced by the human mind and using it for a monetary profit.

The technology conglomerates like Google, Facebook, TikTok, etc. use it to keep us hooked to our devices. These companies are Social Engineering their way into our lives and stealing our power to focus.

Adverse Affects on Present and Future

The mind of a drug addict is never satisfied with that one hit of euphoria. There is perpetuity in chasing the next high. They are incapable of thinking and focusing on something else.

Social media is the drug, our devices are the needles poisoning our insides, killing our focus and, turning us into doom-scrolling zombies.

A bit of foresight into the future and the present habit of doom scrolling and the rate at which it is killing the attention span of kids and teenagers is alarming.

Our present was shaped by thinkers, scientists and philosophers. The future though might very well be shaped by attention-grabbing antics and influencers.
